The foods we eat have significant effects on the blood pH of the urine. So, the more you eat acidic foods, the higher the acid in the blood pH of your urine. These are little mineral deposits that accumulate in the kidneys & have to be removed through surgery or sent through your urinary tract. 

To treat kidney stones, you need to cut down on your consumption of acidic foods like soft drinks & animal protein. In addition, limiting salt intake & drinking more water may lower the risk of developing the condition in the first place.

Acid-forming foods can cause inflammation and severe pain. As a matter of fact, acidosis is related to headaches, muscle spasms & severe back pain. 

A German study treated 82 participants suffering severe back pain to alkaline supplementation. After a month, the symptoms had improved in 92% of the participants.
